The world’s greatest players will reunite in January at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro for the second edition of Star Sixes - an indoor 6-a-side football tournament featuring the legends of the game.
See a galaxy of stars – including Robert Pires, Barry Ferguson, Simon Donnelly and Michael Owen – under one roof as they once again pull on their national shirts to renew international rivalries.
Presented by Pitch International (London), in partnership with Football Champions Tour, the inaugural Star Sixes tournament was staged at The O2, London, in July 2017. The 12-nation competition was contested by teams from England, Scotland, Brazil, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Nigeria, Portugal, China and Denmark. France, captained by Robert Pires, were victorious, beating Denmark 2-1 in the final.
Star Sixes 2019, to be held from January 4-6, is the first regional edition of the tournament. It will be contested by hosts Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Wales and a Rest of the World team over three days of intense competition.
The tournament will consist of a round robin group phase followed by play-offs and final, when the prized silverware will be at stake. As well as world-class football action, there will be a spectacular show built around the matches making this an unmissable occasion for the whole family.
